FAQs: Two Cadet Programs with Spanish Airlines

What are the main benefits of the cadet programs with two Spanish airlines?

You get a genuine opportunity to become a First Officer at one of the two Spanish airlines we run cadet programs with. The cadet programs are oriented towards actual operations in an airline company. Once you pass their assessment, the airline will give you a letter of intent (preliminary commitment to hiring you). These two are well-known, fast-growing operators relevant to the Spanish aviation market – one of the biggest markets in Europe ranked by scheduled seat capacity.

What tools and resources do you provide for student pilots?

Both cadet programs have been structured to give you all the possible tools and resources to succeed in your training. You will be assigned a personal coach, receive an iPad with training material and even VR goggles for studying at your own pace and time from day one of your MCC practical training on FTD and until the last day of your Type Rating!

What are the names of these two Spanish airlines you have Cadet Programs with?

Please refer to the BAA Training team for more detailed information: [email protected].

What aircraft will I fly once I join the Spanish airline?

You will become a pilot on Airbus A320, the world’s top passenger jetliner. While one of the Spanish airlines in question has almost 100 of those in service, the other plans to increase capacity this year significantly to fulfill its operational needs as it continues to add new bases and more flights to its network.

What are the entry requirements?

To enroll, you have to be at least 18 years old, have a secondary or higher education, obtain an EASA 1st Class Medical Certificate and be eligible to work in EASA countries legally. All candidates have to take special tests and interviews developed by the selection committee of BAA Training and the respective airline for social competence and aptitude assessment. Knowledge of Mathematics, Physics and English is of crucial importance to pass.

What is the application process?

It starts with the initial discussion of terms and conditions and answers to all of your questions, followed by document screening and scheduling of the assessment date. The assessment allows us to examine whether you possess the necessary personal traits, competencies and cognitive abilities and check your level of English and motivation. You can do it online or at our training centre in Vilnius. If you pass it, we will present your candidature to the airline. The last step for you is to perform well at their final interview and receive a letter of intent from the airline.

What is the structure of the program?

It is a full-scope training package with ATPL Integrated, Type Rating and Base Training. The students whose training results match the predetermined criteria will be placed for a job interview with one of the two Spanish airlines, who will decide on their recruitment.

Where will I study?

You can do your ground school in Spain, Lleida, Lithuania, Vilnius, or virtually. The flight training is conducted at our flight base in Lleida-Alguaire International airport. As for the Type Rating, we have a simulator training centre in Barcelona with two brand-new A320 full flight simulators – just what you need! If you are a Spanish local or come from a neighboring country, it will be effortless to manage the logistics as both the initial training and the successive Type Rating can be completed „at home.“
