BAA Virtual

BAA Training Is the First ATO to Launch a New Virtual Training Concept

  • BAA Training is the first ATO to launch a highly innovative virtual training concept across the entire organization, allowing students and pilots to undertake aviation training remotely.
  • BAA Training will launch a new online training infrastructure – the BAA Virtual platform – to make various training programs and courses available in the interactive and user-friendly virtual environment.
  • The first training segment to become available via BAA Virtual will be a series of Ab Initio training programs.

BAA Training, a part of Avia Solutions Group (ASG), is the first ATO to launch a highly innovative virtual training concept across the entire organization. ASG invests heavily in the innovation and digitalization of its businesses, and BAA Training took this opportunity to broaden the aviation training concept by going virtual. According to market forecasts, this direction shows a significant improvement in the business potential. Verified Market Research, for instance, reports the Global Virtual Training and Simulation Market is projected to reach USD 628.62 Million by 2028, growing at a CAGR of 13.30% from 2021 to 2028.

Marijus Ravoitis, CEO at BAA Training, says: “The aviation industry and customer needs are changing fast, so we strive to adapt its strategies to satisfy them best. EASA and many air operators actively support pilot learning within a shared online space, which prompted BAA Training to stay up-to-date with the industry trends and introduce virtual training across the entire ATO. This innovation will enhance training quality and also help us scale our training operations while targeting new markets and continue growing our global presence.”

“In addition, during the pandemic, we became experienced in delivering pilot training remotely and developed solid know-how which we can now build upon with our virtual training.”

BAA Virtual platform is an unconventional tool devoted precisely to improve standard training delivery in the aviation industry. It encompasses a set of built-in immersive features allowing instructors and students to connect and interact in real-time, regardless of their physical location. The theoretical part of all BAA Training programs and additional separate modules will migrate to the virtual environment, starting from Ab Initio courses.

Kristijonas Doveika, Head of Online Training Projects at BAA Training, says: “When creating the virtual training concept, we focused on the main goal – to achieve the best training quality for our students and partners. That is why they can now enjoy dynamic learning possibilities via the virtual platform having access to instructor-led lectures, schedules, notifications for upcoming classes or exams, in-class group or peer-to-peer conversations, group assignments, and more. Through the help of AI Integration, we can also deliver better quality examination, thus leading to better succession rate at the Authority certification.”

With the new virtual environment launch, BAA Training becomes an organization offering a mix of interconnected aviation training services. The simulator training at the facilities in Vilnius, Spain, Vietnam, China and shortly – France – combined with the virtual training infrastructure, will offer BAA Training’s corporate and individual customers a wide choice of training options and improved flexibility.

The first groups to study in the virtual classroom will commence their training in February 2022. The students involved in Ab Initio courses will discover the advantages of the brand-new BAA Virtual environment, new interactive training materials, accommodative courses, communication rooms, etc.

Apart from virtual classes, BAA Training will continue having open admissions to traditional classroom-based training programs. Regardless of the student’s choice to complete the theoretical part via BAA Virtual or face-to-face, they will later proceed with flight training in Lleida-Alguaire International Airport in Spain.
